Day Tour Itinerary

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your accommodation, your full-day tour to Alexandria begins. You will meet your private Egyptologist guide and travel in a comfortable private A/C vehicle to explore the following highlights:

Catacombs at Kom el Shoqafa

The Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, built by the Romans in a triangular layout, showcase a fascinating blend of Egyptian and Roman artistic elements. Their intricate decorations reflect the cultural fusion of the era and provide a unique glimpse into ancient burial practices.

Alexandria Library

The Library of Alexandria is one of the world’s most important cultural landmarks. Inspired by the ancient library, its architecture incorporates references to Amun-Ra and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. The modern library complex includes several museums, a printing workshop, a laboratory, a planetarium, and, of course, extensive library collections.

Lunch

Pause for a delicious Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, featuring traditional dishes such as meat dishes, rice, and fresh salads. (Drinks are not included.)

Citadel of Qaitbay

Built in the 14th century by Sultan Qaitbay, the Citadel of Qaitbay was constructed to defend Alexandria from Ottoman invasions. Its strategic location and stunning architecture make it one of Alexandria’s most iconic monuments.

Pompey’s Pillar

Visit the magnificent Pompey’s Pillar, a towering Roman monument that once stood within a grand temple adorned with marble and precious metals. Explore some of the tunnels around the site that remain open for visitors today.

After this enriching day in Alexandria, you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Cairo to relax and enjoy a peaceful evening.
