After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your accommodation, your full-day tour begins. You will meet your private Egyptologist guide and travel in a comfortable private A/C vehicle to explore the following highlights:
The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities
The Egyptian Museum is one of the world’s most famous museums, housing over 25,000 priceless artifacts from ancient Egypt and other civilizations spanning more than five thousand years. Visitors can marvel at treasures from the pharaohs, including jewelry, statues, and mummies, all reflecting Egypt’s rich cultural heritage.
Lunch
Pause for a relaxing Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, featuring traditional dishes such as meat dishes, rice, and fresh salads. (Drinks are not included.)
Saladin Citadel
Built by Sultan Saladin, the Citadel of Saladin was constructed to protect Cairo from Crusader attacks. Situated on a hill overlooking the city, it served as the seat of government and royal residence for many eras. The citadel also houses the impressive Mohamed Ali Mosque.
Mohamed Ali Mosque
Inaugurated in 1848, the Muhammad Ali Mosque inside the Citadel of Saladin was inspired by Turkish mosque architecture. Built of limestone, it features two minarets and six medallions around the dome inscribed with the names of God, Prophet Muhammad, and the four rightly guided caliphs: Abu Bakr, Omar, Uthman, and Ali.
Old Cairo
Explore Old Cairo, a historic area rich in religious heritage, where Islamic and Christian monuments coexist. Highlights include the Hanging Church, Coptic Museum, Omar Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque, and the Citadel of Salah El-Din, offering a deep insight into Egypt’s diverse spiritual history.
After this enriching day, you will be transferred back to your accommodation to relax and enjoy a peaceful evening.
